Five impactful business reads
As fall weather approaches I’m getting excited to dive into a few more books. So today I’m sharing five reads that have been impactful for me, in hopes that you might gain something from them as well!
1. The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone
Subtitled “The Only Difference Between Success and Failure”, this book is one that will inspire you to take action and never settle for less than your desired goal. Grant Cardone’s style is a bit in your face, similar to Gary Vaynerchuck, and I’d recommend the audio version for his added commentary.
2. Building a Brand Story by Donald Miller
No surprise here, right?! A branding book had to make the list. Miller walks you through his signature formula to create your own brand story. Why? Because people love stories! Having your own brand story will help you more easily grab your audience’s attention and keep it to share how what you offer will benefit them.
P.s. He just released a second book called Marketing Made Simple. I'm looking forward to checking this one out as well!
Shaunae and I did a podcast episode on on this book. Check the episode out here.
3. You Are a Badasss at Making Money by Jen Sincero
All of Jen Sincero’s You Are a Badass series is great for self empowerment, but this second book is the one that had the greatest impact for me and my relationship with money. If you have ever said “there is not enough” or “I don’t deserve to make X-amount” then definitely pick this one up!
4. Show Your Work by Austin Kleon
This is another author where I could gush on his series of books. But this one has a special place in my heart because it reframes the idea of showing up as a way of embracing community and being generous rather than self-promotion and as a result becoming findable and finding your voice.
5. Believe Bigger by Marshawn Evans Daniels
I met Marshawn at the Abound Conference that Karen Stott (author of Intentional Living) put on in 2018. I instantly became a fan girl of this woman. She is amazing! And in this book she shares how we often find ourselves building up or focusing on one area of life and limiting our purpose. But if we can cross the gap we to find how we were truly designed, we can live our true purpose and influence and impact.
Shaunae and I were both at the conference so this one made it into a podcast episode too!
Okay, I’m a total bookworm. So here are a few more honorable mentions:
- Start Something that Matters by Blake Mycoskie
- Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
- The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

Happy reading!
